Canonically, Commander Keen is BJ Blascowitz's grandson (from Wolfenstein). Yes I know Wolfenstein was done after Commander Keen. We also had declared internally at id that the Doom guy is Commander Keen's son or grandson, but we hadn't decided which when I left id Software in 1997.
I played both of these for hours!!!
